Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffAugust 4, 2005This freeware offers a wide array of recipes and lets you add your own, but it isn't always intuitive to use. Recipe 3000's drab-looking interface has just a few buttons and a fixed view screen that doesn't allow you to view longer entries. Oddly, you need to click the Edit button to scroll through the whole recipe. Filter and enter recipes by categories with an unfriendly pull-down menu that includes appetizers, main dishes, and salads, but there are some inexplicable entries such as '4sg' that contain no recipes. In addition, some categories appear similar, for example, Dips, Dips and Spreads, and Dips/Spreads, but each offers different recipes. You can print, edit and group recipes into user-added cookbooks, but there's no search tool offered. The help file isn't accessible from the program, though it can be opened from the program's folder. This flawed program won't appeal to most, and its unfriendly design and quirky navigation may baffle the novice.
