It can encode the sound into MP3 on the fly. The built-in scheduler starts and stops recording. The program doesn't allow changing the way files are automatically named. The built-in editor can only work with one file at a time and supports basic operations: you can cut and insert audio fragments, add fade-in/out, insert silence, and change the speed. Bottom line, Audio Recorder Deluxe will only do for PC novices.
