Roles, lane basics, gold and the mistakes almost every new Mobile Legends player makes.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang — Complete Beginner’s Guide

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is the most played mobile game in Malaysia, and it is easy to see why: short matches, a hero for every play style and ranked seasons that keep things competitive. If you are starting out, this guide covers the fundamentals that separate new players from the ones who climb.

Pick one role and learn it properly

There are six roles: Exp Lane, Mid Lane, Gold Lane, Jungle, Roam and Hyper. Beginners improve fastest by mastering one role instead of rotating. The Exp Lane and Gold Lane are the most forgiving places to learn, because you are close to your tower and mistakes cost less.

Gold wins games

Gold buys items, items buy power. Last-hitting minions is the reliable way to farm early, but do not ignore the jungle creep camps when the Jungler is elsewhere. A player who is 1,000 gold ahead of their lane opponent is playing a different game.

Do not die for no reason

The mistake that costs the most games is dying without a good reason. Pushing a lane alone when three enemies are missing from the map, chasing a low-health enemy deep into fog, fighting under the enemy tower without a plan — all of these hand the enemy free gold and experience.

Learn three heroes, not thirty

Pick one hero for your role, one backup and one for when you get banned in ranked. Playing a small roster repeatedly teaches you damage windows, combos and power spikes far faster than hopping between heroes.

Map awareness

Check the minimap every few seconds. If an enemy has not been seen for a while, assume they are near you. This single habit prevents more deaths than any item build.
