Valorant: How to Actually Improve at Ranked

Crosshair placement, utility usage and the practice routine that lifts your rank.

Valorant: How to Actually Improve at Ranked

Valorant rewards precision and information over raw reflexes. If you are stuck in the same rank for months, it is almost always one of these fundamentals.

Crosshair placement is 70% of aim

Keep your crosshair at head height and pre-aim where an enemy can appear. Players who flick to targets are slower than players who are already aiming there.

Utility before gunfights

An smokes, flashes and mollies exist to create unfair advantages. Using a flash before peeking wins more duels than having better aim.

Play for information

Every death reveals something. If you die pushing a site alone, that is a solo mistake, not bad luck. Play with your team's utility, not before it.

Warm up properly

Ten minutes in the range — tracking, strafing, then a deathmatch — beats forty minutes of ranked played cold.

Review one round per game

Pick the round you lost hardest and watch it back. You will spot the mistake immediately, and recognising patterns is what actually moves rank.

Between ranked queues, our browser FPS games keep your aim warm without loading anything.
